Fun day at cable

Today some cable crew members shredded at cable. We were lucky enough to have my boy David come down and shoot in the water with his gopro! The waves were really fun and David came out with some sick shots. We should have more shots soon! Take a look.-Lars

Recent Swell

Wow, there has been a lot of fun waves lately and I have not updated the blog for a while. Big thanks to Carson for keeping you informed while I was slacking off. Alright now lets get down to business, There were 2 or 3 really fun, shreddy days and we got some decent shots. I also went up to Old Orchard Beach in Maine where I experienced one of the punchiest beachbreaks I have ever surfer after I nearly broke my neck in the shorebreak a couple times. Here are a few pics from the past week or so, there will be more to come when I upload footage from another camera. Big thanks to mom for taking time out of her downtime on the beach to shoot some photos of us! -Lars

Board design

About a month ago I was thinking of what to put on my board.  I became inspired and well... these are the results...
(credit to cable crew member Lars for help with the design)
I'm looking for comments about anything!  How you like it, or how it could be improved...
-Carson
Sorry about the lighting on these pictures, it was waaaaay to hot out to go all the way outside.

Kelly Wins

Well, it's official.  Kelly Slater has won the Volcom fiji pro in pumping 6-8 foot surf.  It was no surprise that he was gonna go far, but winning was going to be challenging.  This win helps him in the hunt for grabbing his 12th world title.

Fiji Pro Carnage

If you have been watchin the Fiji Pro like the Cable Crew has, you are probably angered by the early finish to the MONSTER day that was thursday.  However, a huge freesurf session went down as one of the best in cloudbreak history.  Keep tuning in to the Volcom Fiji Pro, as the waves are set to max out Friday June 8.

MASSIVE SWELL FOR CLOUDBREAK

In a follow up post to Lars, a MONSTER swell is headed for Fiji, with the equivalent to the "code red" swell of last year that hit Teahupoo.  Be on the watch for either a MASSIVE Cloudbreak paddle/tow session, or some firing contest waves at Restaraunts. -Carson

Wave Check- Freak's Peak

North Hampton State Beach is known for it's small-to-no surf in the summer, however, on the southern end of the beach, bordering Plaice Cove, lies Freak's Peak, one of NH best right-hand barrels.  Watch for many surfers working for rivaling companies Cinnamon Rainbows, and Cable Crew home-shop Summer Sessions shredding this wave when the surf is head-high at the beach.  This spot favors only offshore winds, high tide, and is a short ride.  You can find this spot empty, or very crowded depending on the quality of the wave.  When it is crowded, it is experienced only, as the spot is only 50 yards across.  When surfing this spot, remember to RESPECT THE LOCALS, so if you're not so sure on your surfing abilities, wait till the lineup is empty, or don't bother paddling out.
for experienced surfers, this is some of NH's best beach-break.  -Carson
The lineup at Freak's.  The tide is wrong and the waves are waaaaay to small, but when it's on, you can watch guys getting shacked from here.

ESA-NNE contests

So, this weekend the waves are all blown-out and choppy, and there was no contest.
However, this next weekend many of the cable crew will be participating in a district comp at The Wall.  You will probably find us around 10th street along Ocean Boulevard wearing some sort of Summer Sessions merchandise or stickers.  Summer Sessions is a growing surf shop at Jenness Beach in Rye, NH.  Come on down and show support for Northern New England!

Pre-Summer Shred

A few weeks ago cable crew members Lars, Tucker, and Danny headed down to cable for a fun little sesh. The waves were less than stellar but the boys continued to rip. The water was warming up and the sun came out preparing us for another great summer. Here are a few photos that Bruce shot. Keep checking the blog out for a few of our guys shredding the waves coming our way.

Ryan's New Shredstick

Check out cable crew member Ryan's sick new lost fish. Its carbon fiber so basically he will be flying
100 mph down the line burning everyone. Sick twig Ryan, get ready to shred in the waves coming our way, hopefully you won't go too fast. -Lars
