Changes

There's some exciting stuff going on in the surf industry right now. One of these events is Nike's repeal of surf sponsorships. When Nike bought Hurley in 2002 these brands began pushing the limits if the surf industry with new products and events. All Nike Surfing team riders will now transfer fully to Hurley. On another note the Vans Triple Crown Of Surfing is going on right now. There is so incredible surfing happening and you can check it out for yourself at www.vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com. There hasn't been too much swell in NH lately but we are looking to get out is some decent surf sometime soon.

Thanksgiving Swell Part 2:

Here are some more photos from the swell.  We surfed a semi-secret spot on the north side of Seabrook/Hampton.  Other than that, I can't tell you exactly where it is.  The spot is great, and here are some good shots of the waves.  The day these photos were taken, we searched all up the coast, and, because of the fog, could not see where the waves were breaking.  It was hard to get any action shots until the afternoon and by then, we were without a camera.  We ended up taking a shot in the dark at the spot, and scored.

Thanksgiving

Looks like it's going to be another great thanksgiving!  I am already gearing up for tomorrow.  Waves are supposed to be 6 feet and perfect, through the entire weekend.  Hopefully we'll get some great shots of the waves.  Stay  posted.

Wave Check- Fox Hill

Probably one of the faster and more powerful waves in NH, though it can get localized, and VERY CROWDED.  Remember, if in doubt, don't paddle out.  This spot has the benefit of having 2 takeoff sections, so if you are not one of the best out there, stay on the inside peak.  There can be barrels there if you are lucky. -Carson
The lineup on an average good swell there.

Summer

Here is a short sequence of me in 2010. I know I have been posting a lot of old stuff but I have been digging through our old Picasa albums and have found a ton of stuff. I have a lot more to post and hope to be getting some more recent photos to. -Lars

The Beginning of Winter

I guess it is that time of year again... winter.  The water, now a chilly 50 degrees, and the air, even colder.  We may start to see some of the bigger swells of the year pop up, and, to be honest, I have no idea how big it will be.  But here is a clip from 2011 to put these waves in perspective.

Looking Back

I was searching through my photos the other day and found these. They are from a July day in 2010 when I was 11 years old. I don't know why but these shots just stood out to me. They seemed very vibrant and clear. It made me remember all of the great summer days we had. This day could not have been better. It was warm, clear, and sunny. The waves were perfect in my mind. 2 feet and glassy, it was easy waist high on me. Just Tristan and I all alone. We could not have been happier. Back in those days I rode my 5'8 twin fish. I loved this board and how I could catch every single wave effortlessly. I did not even try, I just cruised.
While lots of other kids were paddling around on their 4 foot short boards I was catching every wave and developing a  laid back, smooth approach.  Here are a few photos of me from when I was 11 years old and 4 1/2 feet tall. Lars

Rhode Island photos continued

Well, looks like Jose has come through again with some great photos of the surf in Rhodi.  This next photo here is for me at least one of the more iconic photos of Sandy.  Some one is drawing a nice backside line.  I am on the right. If you look real closely, you can see the white caps from a monster set about a mile out. -Carson
This was taken roughly 1/4 of the way through the session. After this, the waves increased another two feet.  By the end, it was double overhead on me easily.

The tide was coming up fast, and there were some strong cross-currents on the inside.  This next one really shows how strong the currents really were
I am glad I did not get washed in.  By the end, the inside was like a giant cheese-grater.

New Stick

Crowley just got a super sick new 5 star. A 5'5 standard short-board, pretty wide through the nose and he has been ripping on it!! It has been working really well in all conditions. With a Nor-Easter headed our way it looks like it we will be pretty busy shredding. On another note the O'neill Cold Water Classic is going down in Santa Cruz right now. The surfing has been amazing and should stay that way for the rest of the event. Go check it out at http://www.oneill.com/cwc/ -Lars ⚓

Sandy Leftovers

On Wednesday, the Cable Crew checked out fox hill with a new face.  Mario, a Bostonian surfer joined us for what was a sketchy but fun session.  The waves were about 5 feet and glassy.  There will be some photos on the way of the session.  We will keep you posted.

Sandy

Here is a brief update of Hurricane Sandy. The swell first came in in Sunday with large surf, high winds and not many surfers. Then a few kids surfed Monday morning when school was cancelled but it was stormy and extremely windy. We stayed busy skating Austin's mini ramp and watching massive waves spraying over the break wall. On Tuesday we had a two hour delay after briefly losing power. Crowley surfed solid Rye Rocks on his new 5 star. I will have an update on that soon. I surfed yesterday and it was fun. Head hih to a little overhead on me and super rippable. We did not get the waves we were hopping for but it was fun. NH was lucky. We did not experience much damage while New Jersey and New York were practically destroyed. I may have more photos of Sandy soon. Lars ⚓
